March 25, 2021 was called Dantedì, the national day in memory of Dante Alighieri, whose 700th anniversary occurs; this is why we wanted to offer 700 limited edition bottles of extra virgin olive oil. The Val di Magra is mentioned in Hell (XXIV 145), and the Magra river in Paradise (IX 89-90) in its most important geographic value: that of the historical border between Liguria and Tuscany. On the label, the iconic profile of the Poet, inspired by Botticelli’s painting, is accompanied by his verses celebrating olive oil: “So I started the third series again; and then, continuing, he said:” Here in the service of God I was so firm, that even with foods of olive liqueur he passed slightly hot and freezing, happy in contemplative thoughts. ” We are in Paradise (XXI 112-117): Dante meets San Pier Damiani. Olive oil, which has always been present in our culture and literature, is denoted here by highlighting its absolute preciousness; a product suitable for every season (“hot and freezing”).
Pairings: White and red meats, seafood and land salads.
